LADIES AUXILIARY NOTES...

This new year, 2010, has not started out very well weather wise. Hopefully March will get better and April even better than that. I know we are all so tired of winter, bring on the spring.

FROM
THE TREASURER...
Treasurer's Notes: Dear Auxiliary Sisters:
As we are starting a new year, please be aware we are going into the end of our Ladies Auxiliary year. As our President is busy with year end reports and all that, my thoughts and efforts turn to Early Bird Dues Roundup! As you know from past years, we send dues notices out in March, with a special option. All those who send their dues checks in to me before May 1 will have their names entered into a special drawing. The lucky lady will receive a check for $25.00. Last year's winner was Paula Kanopasek, this year, it could be YOU ! These Early Bird cards will go to the Department Convention in June, the Auxiliary with the largest number of collections will receive a monetary award form both District and Department level. So, please, when you receive the dues notice in the mail, please send your check for $25.00 as soon as possible so your name can be in our Auxiliary drawing. Let's face it, everyone could use that $25.00 check— right? And, we might be lucky and win some cash for our Auxiliary too! So it is a win-win deal, let's make it work !
At our February Auxiliary meeting, we discussed our Cancer Insurance coverage. It was voted that we not re-new the Hospital portion of the insurance in 2010. However, we will continue to make our contribution to the Cancer Grant portion of the Program.
LIFE MEMBERS: you will not receive a cancer insurance dues notice as in years past. But, if you desire to make your contribution to the Grant Program, we will gratefully accept your check. Continuous members, your contribution is covered in your yearly dues.
If you do not understand the Grant Program, let me explain. Any member in good standing, after 1 year of continuous membership, is eligible for two (2) Cancer Grants in her lifetime. The amount varies with the type of cancer treatment. This will be available whether you have a hospital stay or treated as outpatient (as most things are these days). All that you need to do is contact me for copies of the Grant application, have your Doctor fill it out and mail it in. The check comes directly to you. The second Grant is available after one (1) year of receipt of the first check. Your privacy is complete as YOU and your Doctor fill out the claim form. No one else will see it until it gets to Ladies Auxiliary Headquarters office.
Dues notices will be mailed out in the next few weeks, Remember, Continuous membership is due by July, delinquent in December. Get that Early-Bird stamp on YOUR membership card.
If you have any questions concerning your continuous dues payment or the Cancer Program, please feel free to call me at 81-3961 or e-mail maditt4@aft.net.

MEN'S AUXILIARY NOTES...
It’s been a cold and bitter winter compared to the last ten or so years, hope everyone has stayed warm and toasty. At least we didn’t get all the ice and snow this time.
The Auxiliary is planning a raffle for a
SANYO 37” LCD HDTV
beginning in March. Tickets are $1.00 a
piece or 6 for $5.00. You can buy them
from any Auxiliary member.
The drawing will be held Memorial Day, May 31, 2010.
Speaking of Memorial Day, we will be putting on our 6th Annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner. It’s really been turning into one of the events of the year around here. We served between 150 and 175 people last year. So mark your calendar for MEMORIAL DAY, MAY 31, 2010. We will update everyone on the menu and times later.
I want to remind all Auxiliary members our meetings are the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m.
